All those victories in La Liga place Real Madrid as the favorite to be crowned with the Spanish title this year. After winning over Celta, by three goals to zero, the Real Madrid is positioned as a leader in the Spanish Premier League with 39 points –four points over its closest rival Barcelona F.C. and 7 points above Atletico Madrid in the third-placed of the leaderboard.

In January, Real Madrid will be facing Valencia, Getafe and Cordoba as a visitor team, and Espanyol and Real Sociedad in Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. With the exception of the Valencia team, which is ranked fifth in La Liga leaderboard, all other teams occupy lower positions (Getafe is 13th with 16 points, Cordoba is 17th with 11 points and Real Sociedad is 14th with 14 points).

There won’t be any Champions League matches on January, 2015. On December the draw for the second round was held to pair the 16 teams that have won the first round matches. There can be no clashes between teams from the same country or have coincided in the group stage.
