Real Madrid schedule in January 2015

December was a triumphant month for Real Madrid, who won every game in the Champions League and La Liga. The game against Sevilla which must be played on December 20th has been postponed to allow the Real Madrid prepare the FIFA Club World Cup 2014. Once this competition ended Real Madrid will go on vacation and will not play any games until next January 4th against Valencia at Mestalla Stadium.

All those victories in La Liga place Real Madrid as the favorite to be crowned with the Spanish title this year. After winning over Celta, by three goals to zero, the Real Madrid is positioned as a leader in the Spanish Premier League with 39 points –four points over its closest rival Barcelona F.C. and 7 points above Atletico Madrid in the third-placed of the leaderboard.

In January, Real Madrid will be facing Valencia, Getafe and Cordoba as a visitor team, and Espanyol and Real Sociedad in Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. With the exception of the Valencia team, which is ranked fifth in La Liga leaderboard, all other teams occupy lower positions (Getafe is 13th with 16 points, Cordoba is 17th with 11 points and Real Sociedad is 14th with 14 points).

There won’t be any Champions League matches on January, 2015. On December the draw for the second round was held to pair the 16 teams that have won the first round matches. There can be no clashes between teams from the same country or have coincided in the group stage. The pair of Real Madrid is the German team Schalke 04, the actual champions repeated crossing. Last season, Real Madrid defeated Schalke 04 at Veltins Arena and then 1-6 at the Santiago Bernabeu by 3 goals to 1. Real Madrid have been lucky because he has had one of the weakest teams.

Real Madrid Champions League matches in January 2015

There won’t be any Champions League matches on January, 2015. The next Real Madrid’s Champion League match will be February 18th at 8:45 p.m. against Schalke 04 in the Veltins Arena. The second leg will be at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium March 10th at 8:45 p.m.
