The art of Picasso is a Madrid attraction in and of itself. Some of his paintings, like the Guernica and the Arlequin con Espejo, can be seen in the Reina Sofia Museum and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. However, the Mapfre Foundation adds one more suggestion for the fans of this painter, an exhibition called ‘Picasso. En el taller’ (Picasso. In the studio).
This exhibition displays about 180 works by the Spanish painter, creating a retrospective of his career from the point of view of his work in the studio. Visitors will learn more about his artistic periods, his lovers, his influences and his models, among other subjects. The show begins and finishes with two self-portraits.
Mapfre Foundation is located in Paseo de Recoletos 23, not too far from Plaza de Cibeles and Plaza de Colon. The exhibition will be on stage until May 11st and the ticket is free. The nearest Metro station is Banco de España (Line 2).
