Sometimes, a traditional Christmas scene can gather many people around it. This is the case of the Nativity by Francisco Salzillo, a Baroque Spanish artist whose work can be visited in the CentroCentro gallery and has become a Madrid attraction .
This Nativity scene comes from the Salzillo Museum in Murcia, a southern Spanish city, and it shows the mastery of this sculptor in representing important episodes of the Bible. For instance, the Flight into Egypt, the Massacre of the Innocents or the Annunciation. It is also interesting because it combines the designs of magnificent palaces such as the Herodes, one with traditional and humble houses of that era.
The CentroCentro gallery is located in Plaza de Cibeles. The closest Metro station is Banco de España (Line 2) and many daily and night buses pass by here. This exhibition will be on stage until February 2nd and the general price is 1 euro (kids under 14 years are free).
