1. Walls
The first thing you will notice as you arrive in Avila is its impressive walls. These walls were built in the 11th century and are over two and a half miles long. They are the best-preserved walls in Spain and one of the finest examples of medieval military architecture in the world. The walls have towers and gates, and you can walk on them and enjoy the stunning views of the city. As you walk on the walls, you will feel like you have stepped back in time, and the walls will transport you to a world of knights and kings.
