Vicente Calderón Stadium

Vicente Calderon is the home stadium of the Atletico de Madrid soccer team. The stadium originally was called Manzanares Stadium since the river Manzanares bank is really close to it.  Located in located in the Arganzuela district, the name of the stadium honors the first president and founder of the team. Vicente Calderon was the president of the club during 21 years.

Besides being the Atletico de Madrid home, Vicente Calderon Stadium host international matches of the Spanish national team regarding its impressive capacity. It can host 54.960 spectators in different areas and bleachers. In 2003, it has been classified as a five star UEFA Elite stadium becoming the first Spanish stadium to attain this classification.

The Vicente Calderon Stadium is located in the number 67 of the Paseo Virgen del Puerto, in Madrid. To get here you can take either the metro, the railway or several bus lines.

Upon leaving the stadium looking the street Alexandre Dumas, walk one block to the Glorieta de Pyramids. Then take the street Paseo de las Acacias and walk two blocks.
